Antes de empezar, dar las gracias a Skip (Bateria) de la banda por darse el tiempo de responder a mis preguntas.
01- Puedes presentar tu banda, (miembros, edades, hobbies, trabajos) y cómo se conocieron?
R: Comence esta banda junto a Alex y grabamos una demo, asi como nuestros 2 primeros 7'' Eps, esto antes de buscar una formacion para tocar en vivo. Todos bordeamos entre los 20 y 30 años de edad y todos trabajamos en una variedad de trabajos diferentes. Actualmente no estamos activos como banda, pero nuestra formación más reciente consistió en Alex (Voz), Evan (Bajo), Jamie (Guitarra) y quien les habla, Skip (Bateria).
02- Han estado en otra banda antes de The Wolverines, tienen algún proyecto paralelo a este?
R: Jamie y yo hemos estado en bastantes bandas durante estos ultimos 15 años. Ninguno de los otros chicos ha estado en otra banda. Dado que la banda se encuentra en paro temporalmente, Jamie y yo comenzamos una nueva banda llamada Mob Mentality. Es un Punk Oi! clasico y sencillo. 03- Por qué eligieron ese nombre para la banda?
R: Alex y yo elegimos el nombre "The Wolverines" antes de empezar la banda. Queriamos poner en marcha una banda que se opusiera al comunismo, y no habia mejor manera de representar eso que ponernos el nombre de la milicia que lucho contra ellos en la pelicula "Red Down" de los años 80.
04- Puede nombrar su discografía completa, que nos puede adelantar de lo que se viene?
R: Lanzamos nuestra demo en 2012, creo, luego nuestro primer 7'', llamado "Real American Oi!" en United Riot Records. Luego lanzamos el split junto a los Neoyorquinos Lonewolf NYC. Despues de eso, United Riot saco todas esas canciones en el CD "This Is America". Se ha hablado de lanzarlo en vinilo en algun momento. Tambien escribimos y grabamos el EP "Blood In The Sand", este fue nuestro ultimo trabajo. Habiamos grabado un LP completo que iba a ser lanzado, pero este nunca llego a ver la luz.
05- Sabemos que tienen un split con la banda americana Lonewolf NYC, Como fue esta experiencia y si tienen en mente uno a futuro?
R: De hecho, toque la bateria para Lonewolf NYC en algunos conciertos cuando no tenian un baterista. Tocamos con ellos un par de veces en Nueva York y en Washington DC. Son/fueron una gran banda y eso no se puede pasar por alto. En cuanto a nuevos split, no creo que vayamos ha hacer nada mas con The Wolverines, pero difinitivamente comenzaremos a ver mas lanzamientos con nuestra nueva banda Mob Metality.
06- Pueden describir su estilo musical?
R: Lo discribiria como un verdadero Real American Oi!, sin adornos, sin mentiras, sin actitudes PC, musica Oi! directo en tu cara
07- Cuáles son las bandas que los influenciaron?
R: Solo puedo hablar por mi persona en este caso, pero algunas de las bandas que realmente me han influenciado a lo largo de los años son: Anti-Heros, Patriot, New Glory, AO, Stars and Stripes, por nombrar algunos.

09- Tú eres de Reading, Pennsylvania, puedes describirnos como es la ciudad, como punto turístico, y como es la escena punk y skinhead en este lugar. Hay muchos lugares para tocar?
R: Estoy muy desconectado de la escena punk y hardcore de mi ciudad. Todo el mundo solia llevarse bien hasta que salieron estas mierdas de grupos que dividen la escena. Hay un club en nuestra ciudad que hace grandes shows, pero Wolverines no es bienvenido. Para buenos espectaculos viajamos a Filadelfia y Nueva York, donde se ve mucho menos esa mierda PC y mucho mas de una multitud diversa. En cuanto a lugar turistico, Reading no es definitivamente un lugar para venir a divertirse o sentirse seguro. Mucha pobreza y alta taza de criminalidad.
10- Han salido del país para dar conciertos, ¿qué países y cómo fue la experiencia?
R: No hemos salido del pais. Se suponia que tocariamos en Texas el año 2016, pero nos bajaron del concierto porque supuestamente somos polémicos. Dudo que Wolverines llegará alguna vez al extranjero porque ya no estamos activos, pero me encantaría hacer esto con mi nuevo proyecto.
11- Sabemos que su sello es United Riot Records, Aparte de este, ¿dónde podemos conseguir sus discos?
R: Creo que todos nuestros discos estan agotados. Se habla de reedicionar todas nuestras canciones en un LP a futuro, Incluyendo las canciones de "Blood In The Sand", pero nada definitivo todavía.
12- Últimamente hay muchas bandas que vienen a Sudamérica, como Lion's Law, The Last Resort, Red Alert, y ahora estamos esperando a Cockney Rejects, The Crack, entre otros. (En Chile) ¿Qué se necesita para traer a The Wolverines a Chile?
R: Es genial que esten recibiendo un monton de bandas en su pais. Creo que se necesitaria un milagro para traer a The Wolverines, ya que algunos de nosotros ni se hablan.

R: You are speaking with Skip from the Wolverines. I started this band with Alex and recorded the demo as well as our first 2 7”s before we sought out a lineup to play live. We are all in our late 20s/early 30s and we all work an array of different jobs. We are not currently active as a band, but our most recent lineup consisted of Alex – Vocals, Evan – Bass, Jamie – Guitar, and Skip – Drums.

R: Jamie and I have been in quite a few different bands over the past 15 years. None of the other guys were ever in another band. Since the wolverines are most likely not going to be playing any time soon, Jamie and I started a new band called Mob Mentality. It’s straight forward Oi! and punk singalong songs. 03- Why did they choose that name for the band?
R: Alex and I chose the name “The Wolverines” before we even started the band. We wanted to start a band that stood against communism, and there is no better way to represent that then to name ourselves after the militia group that fought commies in the 80s movie “Red Dawn”.
04- Can you name your complete discography?
R: We released our demo in 2013 I believe, then our first 7” called “Real American Oi” on united riot records. We then released a split 7” with Lonewolf NYC. After that United Riot put out all of those songs combined on the “This is America” CD. There has been talk of putting that out on vinyl at some point. I also wrote and recorded the “Blood In The Sand E.P” as the last thing we did. We recorded a full length LP that was going to be released but this never saw the light of day, and may never be released.
05- We know he has a split with the American band Lonewolf, How was the experience, and if they come new split in the future?
R: I actually filled in on drums for Lonewolf NYC for a few shows when they did not have a drummer. We played with Lonewolf a few times in NYC and in Washington DC. They are/were a great band and should not be overlooked. As far as new splits, I don’t think that we will be doing anything more with the Wolverines, but you will definitely start to see more releases from our new band Mob Mentality.

R: I would describe it as straight forward real American oi! music. No frills, no bullshit, no PC attitude, just straight in your face Oi! music.
07- What are the bands that influenced them?

09- You are from Reading, Pennsylvania, you can describe us as the city, in a tourist spot, and as is the punk & skinhead scene in this place. There are many places to play?
R: I am very disconnected from the punk and hardcore scene in my town. Everyone used to get along until this crew and gang shit got out of hand. There is a club in our city that does great shows, but Wolverines are not welcome. For good shows, we travel to Philadelphia and New York City where there is a lot less PC bullshit, and a lot more of a diverse crowd. As far as being a tourist spot, Reading is definitely not the type of place you come to have fun or feel safe. High poverty and crime rates.
10- They have gone out of the country to give concerts, which countries and how was the experience?
R: We have not gone out of the country to play. We were supposed to play in Texas in 2016 but we were kicked off the bill because we are supposedly controversial. I doubt that Wolverines will ever get overseas because we are not active, but I would love to do this with my new project.
11- We know that your label is United Riot Records, Apart from this, where else can we get your records?
R: I believe that all of our records are sold out. There is talk of pressing all of our songs on an LP in the future including the Blood In The Sand songs, but nothing definite yet.
12- Lately there are many bands coming to South America, such as Lion's Law, The Last Resort, Red Alert, and now we are coming to Cockney Rejects, The Crack and I think even the Rude Pride come. What does it take to bring The Wolverines to Chile?
R: It is great that you are getting a lot of bands to come to your country. I think it would take a miracle to get Wolverines to come since some of us do not talk to each other anymore.
